Harrods’ three-day Made To Measure event begins today, a celebration of customisation and men’s tailoring. For three days, the men’s formal wear floor will be full of brand tailors in each concession, on hand to give free style advice and measure you up to find the perfect suit.
Participating labels include 24 of the world’s leading menswear brands, like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Prada. The event, from Friday 3rd October to Sunday 5th October, is a chance to get your cufflinks engraved, your luggage embossed and suits, shirts and shoes in exclusive fabrics and colourways.. Oh, and public enemy number one Dolce & Gabbana will be there too, so practice your best side eye when you pass.
Accessories brands will also be on hand to complete your outfit: Dean & Francis cufflinks, Church’s shoes and Eton shirts – plus get exclusive monogramming from Corneliani.
So whether you’re a regular suit and tie guy or not, head to Harrods in London’s Knightsbridge for expert advice and to scope out the season’s key trends and fabrics. There’ll also be ten per cent off selected items purchased in-store when paying by MasterCard.
Made to measure is not only about tailoring your suit and other clothing to perfectly suit your silhouette – we can also expand to the whole customisation process, which become more and more popular and sophisticated. Except for already mentioned tailoring, we can focus much more on the fabric customisation. How about to select the right fabric, the one you really want to wear – cotton, satin or maybe jeans. But it is not everything yet, we can go one step or maybe even miles further, which allows us digital fabric printing process. Now you can design your own fabric with no minimum order, using the online editor you can customise it with graphic, photo, text or any design you have been dreaming of. Then you can contact your tailor and have your cloth made with the fabric you really like and comfortable with and what is more important printed with the design which definitely will not go unnoticed.
Made to Measure Autumn/Winter is a three-day celebration of customisation. From suiting to footwear, cuff-links and luggage – it showcases the different degrees of personalisation – from made-to-measure to all-out bespoke.
It’s an international affair, uniting Swedish shirt-makers with American high fashion and Italy’s finest tailoring tradition with the old guard of Savile Row.
Tailoring brands will be sending their master tailors to the event.
